FREEDOM GALA to Honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day with Launch of "High 5" Civil Rights Initiative
PHOENIX, ARIZONA — On Monday, January 19, 2026, the Freedom Gala convened leaders, activists, and community members to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and unveil a modern roadmap for equality. The event took place from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and featured an evening of fine dining, drinks, and live music.
The 2026 Gala marks a pivotal moment in the movement with the official rollout of the "High 5" Pillars of Civil Rights. These five strategic focuses aim to address contemporary challenges through actionable solutions:
1 Mediation: Prioritizing conflict resolution and dialogue to bridge societal divides.
2 Civic Responsibility: Encouraging active participation in the democratic process and local governance.
3 Corporate Reform: Advocating for transparency, ethics, and equity within the business sector.
4 Talent, Experience, Ability, Merit (T.E.A.M.):Promoting advancement based on individual excellence and hard-earned skill.
5 Community Restoration: Investing in the physical and social revitalization of underserved neighborhoods.
"As we honor Dr. King in 2026, we must look beyond reflection and toward restoration," says CEO and founder Kathryn "Katt" McKinney. The 'High 5' initiative provides a tangible framework to ensure that freedom and opportunity are accessible to all."
